The Treasurer’s Office is responsible for the billing and collection of all monies owed to the City.

The City collects and disburses taxes for St. Clair County, East China School District, St. Clair County Community College, and RESA.   Millage rates are determined by each of the taxing units.  The City Council establishes the millage rate for the City as part of the budgeting process.  Regardless of the fiscal year of the taxing unit, both the summer and winter tax bills cover the calendar year for which they were levied.

The Treasurer is also responsible for the billing and collection of water and sewer bills.  Water bills are sent quarterly and include charges for water sewer and trash collection.

Dog Licenses are available at the Treasurer’s Office from December through February.  When purchasing a dog license, please bring the pre-printed form sent by the County Animal Control Office.  Proof of current rabies vaccination and neutering (if applicable) must be supplied before a license can be issued.
