M-29 Bridge Closure-December 1

Per Michigan Department of Transportation: please note the full closure of the Pine River Bridge (M-29)  Tuesday, December 1st  8am-5pm for repairs to the shims on the bridge.

Additional information received from MDOT 11/24/15:

PROJECT DETAILS:

M-29 will be closed to allow crews to realign the bridge over the Pine River so that both halves of the bridge meet properly in the middle. The original contractor of last spring’s repair project on this bridge, Z Contractors, is performing the work. A permit has been obtained by the U.S. Coast Guard to stop marine traffic in the area for the day.

While the closure is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., it’s expected not to take the entire day and the bridge will reopen as soon as work is completed, weather permitting.

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

Passenger vehicle detour: northbound M-29, westbound Puttygut Road, northbound King Road, eastbound Fred Moore Highway, eastbound Clinton Avenue, and back to M-29.

Commercial traffic detour: northbound M-29, westbound Chartier Road, northbound King Road, eastbound Fred Moore Highway, eastbound Clinton Avenue, and back to M-29.
