M-29 Clinton to Bree: road work beginning Oct. 9

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close a section of M-29 at the railroad tracks south of the bridge and have single lane closures on M-29 from St. Clair Highway to Bree Road to complete concrete patches and replace the CSX Railroad crossing in the city of St. Clair.

This work is part of an overall $965,000 invest to improve 1.6 miles of M-29, including sidewalk ramp improvements compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Traffic restrictions:
M-29 will be detoured via Bree Road, St. Clair Highway, King Road, and Fred Moore Highway.

Job numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nearly 14 jobs.

Safety benefit:
This work will improve the driving surface of M-29 and the railroad crossing.
