The St. Clair County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has officially launched a communication based system intended to get information to the public at large.
“WINS” Warning Information Notification System
The system is capable of sending alerts, such as anything that might impact life, health or safety, in numerous ways (home phones, cell phones, text messages, emails and TTY devices) in addition to the notices already sent through sirens, media, social media and other means. Users can select which alerts and by what method they want to receive information. Residents, businesses and other groups can sign up for messages and alerts by visiting www.bereadystclaircounty.org and clicking on the WINS logo.
